Alright well, asking me why I ship Junseung is like asking me why I breathe. That sounds overdramatic but it’s true. Everyone has that one OTP; the one that makes you weak in the knees and shiver and ugly sob and scream and squeal and melt and breaks your heart and puts it back together again and hits you in the gut with it’s perfection. Mine is Junseung.

I get this question a lot actually. People wonder why I ship Junseung as hard as I do when ”they barely have any moments anymore”. A true OTP goes beyond fanservice though, and that’s why I ship Junseung. 

Most OTPs like Jongkey for example throw fanservice in the fan’s faces because they know it’s what the fans want. Sure they are close and have true moments and stuff, but you can tell alot of the ”moments” are forced and fanservice to please the fans. With Junseung, the moments between them were never like that. They weren’t forced or overly gooey. They weren’t made obvious and thrown in the fans faces. Their moments were more hidden, unconscious and real. Not forced, not for fanservice. Just cute moments that you notice behind everything that just make you go weak in the fucking knees.

Even as trainees, you can tell there was a sweet affection between Junhyung and Hyunseung that they didn’t have with the other members. You see it more on Hyunseung’s side, especially in the Beast documentary. It’s like he has a giant schoolgirl crush on Junhyung and it’s the cutest thing. After debut is when you really started seeing their ”moments” in the background. Sweet stares and cute intimate moments that just made you question everything.

Then ”Junseung” blew up. It became an official OTP and the fans would chant it out and hold up signs and everything. In most groups, when there is a popular OTP that gets shipped by fans, that OTP usually turns up the fanservice to please them. But with Junseung, it was the opposite. They distanced themselves from eachother on stage and made sure to make overly obvious fanservice with the other members. Junhyung would stick close to yoseob while Hyunseung went with Doojoon alot. But there were still those small moments that would happen, even though they tried to stay distanced and cold in public. That’s why people call them ”ninja couple”, because there were all these stolen moments that passed too quickly here and there that were more intimate and sweet than any of the forced fanservice between the other members.

That’s why I ship them so damn hard. They seem more genuine and real because they never made their moments obvious. 

Another huge part of it is how awkward they are with eachother. Most OTPs are super comfy when they do fanservice and laugh about it and are all over each other for the fans. With Junseung, they’re really like two people who are totally crushing on eachother and are still nervous about it. Their moments include blushing and awkward touches, all those sweet stares and caring caresses, and those pauses and smiles hidden by biting their lips. UGH it just makes my head spin how much they’re just so PERFECT together.

They have such intense chemistry together, you know? When they stand near eachother, they just look good together. When their eyes meet, the air crackles. When they touch, it’s awkward and special and they smile and blush and it’s perfect.

They’re also incredibly compatible. They’re very similar to each other and complete eachother. While Hyunseung is 4D and hotheaded, Junhyung is grounded and serious. They both appreciate silence and are very passionate in what they do. Junhyung with his music and Hyunseung with his dancing… they both have that artistic passion inside them.

Then everything went downhill. Something happened between them. The whole Hara and Junhyung thing came out and Hyunseung didn’t smile for like a full month. The ”moments” stopped, and were instead replaced by two men who’s eyes stopped sparkling. Their smiles aren’t the same anymore. They are barely seen close to each other now, and when they are it’s awkward. And not the sweet, ‘I have a crush on you’ awkward. It’s more of a ‘something obviously happened and our hearts are broken’ awkward. 

I really don’t know what went down, but something changed them. Whether they had a relationship, or even if they just has a friendship, it changed. Obviously the Hara thing must have had an effect but I swear it’s more than that. How can they have gone from what they once were to now, where they can barely stand being near eachother? Even the most recent ”moment” where Junhyung went to Hyunseung on stage and put his arm around Hyunseung with a huge smile… Hyunseung’s face looked broken. He looked mad and pissy and hurt and like he absolutely hated Junhyung. So many junseung stans fangirled over that moment, but for me it just made me cry because the look on Hyunseung’s face is so… i don’t even know.

But I will never stop. I will never stop shipping them. I just won’t. Judge me if you want to, but that’s how I feel. I know that no one will read this because OMFG I JUST WROTE A FREAKING ESSAY LIKE WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WRITE I DONT EVEN KNOW
